A Salt Lake City company since 1981
Knell Construction has placed gypsum concrete (Gypcrete) underlayments, sound control mats and lightweight concrete for more than 40 years, on new construction and renovations. In that time we've installed more than 121 million square feet of gypsum lightweight concrete and acoustical sound mat flooring.
We work with general contractors and builders on multifamily, commercial and custom home projects across Utah, Idaho, Wyoming and Montana, with Arizona and Nevada coming soon.
We install USG's Levelrock underlayments and sound mats, which gives builders a range of price and performance options for leveling, sound control and strength. Our own crews do the work, and we keep material stocked in our own warehouse and yard so your schedule doesn't wait on a supplier.

We keep enough Gypsum Concrete (Gypcrete) and sound mat stocked in our own warehouse and yard to cover large projects, so your schedule doesn't depend on a supplier's lead time.
Careful takeoffs
We read the assembly details, enlarged unit plans and finish schedules before we price. If something in the drawings doesn't add up, we tell you before bid day.
Practical options
We'll show you the choices, like mat thickness, Gypsum Concrete (Gypcrete) depth and fiber, and flag what they affect: toilet flanges, drains, stair heights and door clearances.
Clean paperwork
Submittals, pay applications, lien waivers, insurance certificates and warranties arrive on time and in the format your office needs.
